Laser burns on electronic components can be a sign of a device being remarked. A refurbishing house that remarks a device does not have the same laser marking capabilities as the component manufacturer. When laser marking a device the laser goes deeper in some areas and not in others. The point in which the laser starts the letter and ends are also points of laser burns. Inconistnent laser burns are a sign of remarking. There are also manufacturers that are not as consistent when laser marking a device. Rely on the history in GETS database.
